Unfortunately, the 2024-2025 boys basketball team did not make it to the final playoffs. The team finished the season with a total of two wins, losing the ultimate game of this season to Dunbar with a score of 14 – 68. Although the team wasn’t left with the most desirable results the season was still filled with great opportunities to learn from each other while facing new hardships. This year’s boys basketball season was defined not by scores, but by the player’s dedication and willingness to keep going. In spite of the obstacles that the team faced they still created good memories and stronger bonds with peers.
Our fellow eagles have shown a lot of effort and determination this season. Even though they have faced tough opponents the team continues to work hard and improve their skills. Despite the challenges players like Robert Rodrigues have stepped up and made an impact by earning recognition as Player of the Game multiple times. The team is focused on learning from their experiences and pushing themselves to be better in future games. “It isn’t about the game but it’s about the love for it” – Gustavo Perez
Sadly our 2024-2025 girls basketball team did not go on to the playoffs, ending their season winning 9 out of 16 of their games. Their lowest score being 9 – 65 against Eastern Hills, and their highest score being 38 – 17 against Diamond Hill. Even though this year’s scores were not what we desired, we still feel proud of our team for all the hard work and dedication they put into this season. Victory for this year was defined in both passion and teamwork. As our eagles battled off hard opponents and challenges they never stepped down or gave up and that to the Carter-Riverside community is victory for our players. “Although there was failure this season there was also victory”, says Africa Blakley.
Our eagles have soared high and proud showing us dedication and partnership through the 2024-2025 basketball season. As our eagles faced their opponents they made sure to push hard towards victory, keeping their head in the game and working strongly as a team. The basketball teams are planning to come back next season stronger and better by gaining new skills and learning from past experiences.
