When it comes to reading, a lot of students tend to think of a generic +100 page school book they were forced to read in their English class, but when faced with what students tend to check out the most in our school library, we see much more of a difference.
Students are more likely to check out Graphic Novels like Comic Books, Mangas, and Fiction Novels. Graphic Novels have been gaining popularity in schools almost everywhere, so it really shouldn’t be much of a surprise, especially when you factor in how easy it is to actually read it. All you really need to do is flip pages to understand what the book is about, which is what makes it so easy to grasp, and easy to grab.
With both images shown (Ms. Isern’s SnapShot), you can see how Manga manage to stay relevant with grades. Even with Novembers SnapShot still unreleased, it’s easy to assume we’ll still have our graphic novels in the lead for a third month!
“The ones that are mostly checked out here are Manga, there are certain series checked out than others” stated by our wonderful librarian, Ms. Isern.
“I’d honestly say Mangas are the most checked out, sometimes when I’m trying to read a series, volumes tend to be missing because there’s multiple students who have already checked it out before I could get to it” – Student (Wishes to remain Anonymous)
Safe to say many students enjoy our library⭐︎
