Many students at Carter know about the Go Center, located in the first floor of new building. Although not everyone goes, there they know of its existence and its purpose; to help not only Seniors but also all grade levels to have a plan for after high school.
Recently, a new member joined the Go Center and took her new role by storm. Allow me to introduce you to, Ms. Soza.
Ms. Soza is Originally from Colorado, she moved to Texas to pursue more opportunities for herself and her family. In Durango, Colorado at Fort Lewis College, she got her degree in Educational Studies minoring in TSAL. Now that she is in the Go Center, she focuses on collaborating with her colleagues towards the goal of, “getting you guys into whatever you want to do. No matter what it is.”
She has already left an impact on the students at Carter. Carter student Emily Tran has described Ms. Soza as, “a very friendly and welcoming person.” Students felt a void left behind after Ms. Wilder and Mr. Ferguson left the Go Center this semester to join the Carter English Department. Many students were worried that the new replacement wouldn’t connect well with them. According to Emily’s testimony, that is not the case.
Let me end it with some words from Ms. Soza herself, “I’m very happy to be here. I really like it here at Carter, and anybody should come to the go center for anything.”
The Go Center is a very useful resource. Carter students, if you haven’t had the chance to go yet, stop by and say hello to Ms. Soza!
